Welcome Dr. Libby

DEAR FRIENDS OF CHESTER ARTHUR,

As this school year comes to an end, we're thrilled to extend a warm welcome to Dr. Mary Libby, Chester Arthur School's new principal!  Dr. Libby will be continuing the great work that Principal Newman and Principal Hunter have led in recent years, and is already in our classrooms and schoolyard, getting to know our students, teachers and parents. We're looking forward to partnering with her in the coming years.

Dr. Libby is an expert in literacy education who has taught in public schools as far away as New Zealand. She has a doctorate in reading, writing and literacy from the University of Pennsylvania's Graduate School of Education, where she is also a lecturer.

Dr. Libby already told us that Chester Arthur has "passionate teachers, aspirational students and an engaged community." So, how about we show her how engaged we really are?

Dr. Libby has identified a need for five smartboards in classrooms that currently don't have them. These smartboards are valuable for a 21st-century education, and we want to make sure Dr. Libby and the teachers have exactly the tools they need to educate our kids.

So please consider welcoming Dr. Libby by making sure she has those smartboards. Donate to Friends of Chester Arthur and we'll order them ASAP so they're ready for use this coming September.

Thank you, as always, for supporting local, quality, public education at Chester Arthur School, and have a wonderful summer.

Sincerely,
